Created some twenty years ago as a family resort, we quickly became very popular with honeymoon couples and we hope that in the next few minutes we can show you why. Situated on the Island of Mindoro, some 60 miles to the South of Manila our resort is nestled among tropical palms right on the beach and overlooking the Philippines Sea. . If you would like to stay in a five star resort yet pay three star prices, the El Galleon resort rooms cost as little as $51 US a night. Your budget is likely to go a lot further here in the Philippines than you might imagine. Typically someone like a waitress will earn under $1 an hour, so it is not surprising the Philippino people love visitors. The water temperature here is a constant 25 - 27C all year round.   The Philippines is made up of over ten thousand islands. The vast majority of which are uninhabited. Here you can take a small boat ride and in a very few minutes find totally deserted beaches of golden sand where you can picnic or just laze about.

Honeymoon in the Philippines at the El Galleon beach resort

The most popular pass time here at El Galleon is snorkeling and scuba diving. Divers come from all over the world to see the marine life. We actually have a larger variety of fish here than in the whole of the Red Sea and more varieties of soft and hard corals than exist in the Great Barrier Reef.

There is a very special current running gently past our resort bringing vast amounts of oxygen and nutrient rich water in from the mid Pacific. It is this current that has resulted in so much marine life here. Realizing what a unique resource they have the Philippines government has designated the entire area around our resort as a marine sanctuary.

If you ever scuba dived or would like to learn you will be in heaven here. Asia Divers is part of the El Galleon resort and here you can dive with air, nitrox, trimix or re breathers all of which can be hired from Asia Divers.

Asia Divers run courses and arrange dives of every imaginable type. As a school it is one of the most respected in all Asia and is one of only two dive operations in the entire Philippines qualified to train to the PADI Instructor level.
