It is not a coincidence that we have more varieties of fish here on our doorstep than in the entire Red Sea. Nor that we have more varieties of corals than in the entire Great Barrier Reef.

Waiting to welcome scuba iving honeymoon couples.

.

Rather than try to show you with words why El Galleon is one of the premier honeymoon and dive resorts in the world, we have created a few short movies so you can see for yourself why we are so popular with honeymooners.

We should tell you though, about a very special current called the Verde Island Passage. This current starts to flow like a lazy river from the mid Pacific and comes right to Puerto Galera where we are based. It is this current that brings oxygen and nutrient rich waters to us and it is this which makes this a marine area which is unique.

Here is a link to help you understand how unique Puerto Galera is. Verde Island Passage.

Conservation.org described this are as "The Verde Island Passage has arguably the highest concentration of marine species of any region in the world’s oceans, including whale sharks (Rhincodon typus), giant clams (Tridacna gigas), and the iconic Banggai cardinalfish

Not only is this area rich in sea oxygen and nutrients but the water temperature is that of a warm bath all year round. 25C - 29C With underwater visibility in the 30-35 meter range.

Diving Honeymoons at El Galleon are exciting.

It may take you a little longer on the plane to get to the Philippines than some other places, but once you are here your spending money will go a lot further than in most countries. Foe example a room in El Galleon resort, which is a 5 Star resort costs as little as $51 a night in 2010.

Clicking the image on the right will show you our resort and the quality of our rooms. On the outside rooms are created to blend in with the natural vegetation, but the absolute quality inside can be seen in the video.

Asia Divers are Part of our resort.

It is no accident that one of the best PADI diving schools in all Asia is based here. So many of our guests are divers that the dive school and the hotel are seen as being equally important.

We already explained how this is such a rich environment for fish and corals. The Philippine government too realized what a treasure this is and made the entire area round our resort a protected marine reserve.

Clicking the picture to the left here will show you just some of the wonderful marine life here.

What people do on scuba diving honeymoons here and not actually diving.

Again, we could try explaining some of the things avail a be that make honeymoons here both interesting and exciting, but again, this short movie will show you just a few ideas.

Five minutes walk along the beach from our resort lies the small town of Sabang. Here there are restaurants catering for every nationality and taste as well as many bars. You may chose to simply sit under the stars and listen to one of the live bands or perhaps go to ne of the eight discos where you can dance the night away.
